Johnny Lion was born in Bremerton, Washington on January 13. He was baptized, raised, and is still a practicing Roman Catholic. His interest in movies was sparked by his father, who filmed home movies with his brothers during their early childhood. Johnny's older brothers first took up silent films when he was about ten years old. His next older brother, James, took role of lead director of the family films. Johnny and the other 3 brothers were mainly actors. He took over the reigns of lead director and producer at the age of 24 with his first movie Dark Light. 13 years later, his movie career evolved into a dark, gothic-style theme. His favorite film genres are dark comedy, horror, and fantasy, which is reflected in his later movies.

Johnny's everyday hobbies include going to movies, hanging out with friends, drinking coffee, playing basketball, doing custodial work (at his favorite hometown college), and saying "NO" to drugs (except caffeine!!). He loves animals, especially cats, of which he has two. Their names are Goldie and Sammy, both cute females. Plants and fish are considered "no-no pets", because they usually end up drowning. Horror novels are his favorite, highly recommending the Mayfair Witch Chronicles by Anne Rice. Anything dark and scary stirs Johnny's soul, and helps inspire him to new heights in horror movies.

Johnny is most known for his epic fantasy/horror film Attack of the Evil Dolls. He has also won awards for his movies. Most notably was a BKAT Emmy from a community television station in Bremerton for his work on the dark comedy Snarky's Tips for Dating in 2003. He went dressed as his favorite character, Snarky, The Clown Of Darkness. Accompanying him was his best friend, Nels Ovestrud, dressed up as Snarky's mother, Mrs. Snark.

Johnny continues to set the standard of the Dark & Gothic movie style. His twisted, sinister sense of humor and highly creative storylines have drawn a large audience looking for an alternative to the common themes used in movies today. Using skillful pyrotechnics, puppetry, and gadgetry, Johnny will continue to push the envelope for originality and ingenuity.
