2005 Rant Archive

Thursday, December 29, 2005

Happy Holidays, everyone! In celebration of the upcoming new year, all of Snarky's greatest will be combined into Snarky's Hour of Darkness and shown on BKAT. The show times are as follows:
  • New Year's Eve (December 31) @ midnight
  • New Year's Day (January 1) @ midnight
  • January 2 @ 11pm
Note that these times are basically the "night of", so technically I guess you could say January 1-3, buuuut who cares? Watch 'em anyway!

Snarky put up another rant and completed a review of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Ah, and we've added Snarky Snow to the main page, for fun (in case you were wondering what that was). Enjoy!

Well, Christmas is right around the corner, so I hope everyone has been really nice so they can get a lot of presents from Santa! We all know at least one person that's been NAUGHTY, though - Snarky! But that's just the way he is; love him or hate him.

Either way, the Grand Opening for the new site will be New Years Even! YAY! There will also be some of our films shown on BKAT, as well. I'll let you know everything that's planned for the party as soon as I figure it out.

On the production front, filming for Snarky's Funhouse will resume in early January. Filming and production has gone slower on this project because of the overall complexity and the new special effects involved. I have to admit, the production value rivals Attack of the Evil Dolls.

Last update: The Dreamtown Films Basketball team was on a roll. We ended the Bremerton Parks Fall Season in 2nd place in the division with a record of 8-1 - pretty good, huh? Well, we have a pretty good team. We are now in the Fall Playoffs with teams from other divisions, and won our first game last Thursday. After we win this weekend we'll be sailing strong into the heart of the tournament. I'll keep ya'll posted on our other games!

WE WON AGAIN! The DTF Basketball team is still undefeated with a record of 4-0. We ran away with it with a score of 70 to 41. Wow, this is quite a team! Just the opposite of my church team last year, which went 0-8 (ouch). I'm going to contact my friend today about those digital effects that he was working on for me. Everything will take time, but I'll let you know what is happening as we progress. Well, see ya and have a nice weekend!

Monday night (Halloween - oooh, scary) I sprained my ankle during basketball practice so I missed work Tuesday and Wednesday. It wasn't fun, because this is the worst sprain I've had. The swelling and pain have been extreme! I'm back to work today though (boo!) and hobbling around. It's getting better though, but no playing basketball for at least a couple of weeks (just coaching).

For those who are interested, here's a little fun fact about me (and if you haven't guessed already). I've played basketball since I was a teenager, starting in high school for Bremerton (back in the days). Now I sponsor my own team in the Bremerton Parks and Recreation Men's Fall League. The team is appropriately named "Dreamtown Films." We are in the 3rd division and are currently undefeated 3-0. We play tonight, so I shoul dhave an update tomorrow or the next day with the results. Check out the Bremerton Sun for our scores on Saturdays Wish us luck tonight though - YAY!

On the movie front, I'm waiting for a friend to finish up some digital effects on a special scene for Snarky's Funhouse. It has to do with the intro to the movie, but it's very important (you'll find out why later - muahahahaha!). It should be done soon and then we'll be on to shooting the actual movie scenes. I'll keep everyone posted, so don't worry!

Well, this was quite a long post. I hope they're not all this long because my fingers are bleeding (just kidding).

Katie's Day Off premiered successfully on October 16, but we finally have the page up. YAY! Check out the action here.

Forever Goodnight has also completed production. It is a murder mystery and will premier some time next month (November). We'll post another update when we get the premier dates set.

Hello world! Welcome to the new and improved Dreamtown Films website! We are excited to have our own domain name, as well as a new layout that we hope you'll find easy to use and appealing to the eye. We have been working on this new concept for a few months, although it hasn't been easy dragging me out of the 80's-style design. What can I say, I'm a die-hard old-school goth weirdo! Well, I think this new site will keep everyone happy (especially Diana, the webmaster).

New to the site is a history of DTF, featuring a Hollywood version and a so-called boring version. There is a contact page where you can write Johnny directly. Also, Snarky's World has undergone a HUGE revamp, and, in my opinion, it totally rocks and fits Snarky well.

Any feedback you have on the site would be appreciated. Just use the contact form, guestbook, or e-mail at johnny@dreamtownfilms.com. Again, thanks for visiting Dreamtown Films!!!
